View details →Key options include MIT MITES, MIT MathROOTS, AI4ALL Summer Programs, MIT Women's Technology Program (WTP), Kode With Klossy coding camps, and Technovation Girls Challenge. Many of these are free or fully funded. Black Girls Code and Stemettes (UK) serve broader age ranges but include high school.
The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship ($2,500) is awarded to outstanding high school senior women. Several state-level science fair and competition awards carry scholarship components. Most major national scholarships (SWE, Google, etc.) are for college students — high school is the time to build the record that wins those.
Grade 9–10 is ideal for starting summer programs; grade 11 for competitive awards. Guidance counselors should note that summer research experience (MIT MITES, AI4ALL) significantly strengthens college and scholarship applications. Technovation Girls is open from age 10 and teaches app development with a business pitch component.
