An outgoing mobility fellowship run by NAWA, the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, that funds researchers affiliated with Polish institutions to spend a research period at a leading centre abroad. It is open across all fields of science, including engineering and the natural sciences, and is aimed at building international collaborations that the fellow brings back to their home institution. Calls run in annual editions, with closed calls from 2021 onward archived publicly on the programme page alongside the current round. Named for Jan Bekker, the programme sits alongside NAWA's Ulam scheme, which funds the reverse direction - foreign researchers coming into Poland. Useful for postdocs and mid-career academics in Poland whose funding search usually stops at national grant agencies.
