Salary support for health researchers in the training phase of their careers in British Columbia, providing $60,000 per year plus a research and travel allowance of $4,500 per year for up to three years. PhD holders must commit 75 per cent of their time to research; health professionals in active clinical service must commit 50 per cent. Applicants must hold or be eligible for a post-doctoral fellowship position at a BC institution with a memorandum of understanding with Health Research BC and must not have previously received a Health Research BC or MSFHR post-doctoral fellowship. More than 1,400 Research Trainee awards have been made since 2001; competition deadlines are announced on the Health Research BC website between rounds.
