About This Program

A two-year fellowship for master's and doctoral students at Maryland or Washington, DC institutions whose research addresses the Chesapeake Bay or Maryland's coastal bays. The award provides roughly $35,000 a year in stipend plus fringe benefits, tuition remission and a $2,000 annual travel allowance. Fellows must work with a professional mentor drawn from extension, education, communication or end-user sectors rather than a research academic, so that findings reach practitioners and policymakers.
