Hands-on laboratory training in biosecurity for early- and mid-career scientists at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, covering molecular detection of biological threats, pathogen genomics, vaccine development, antimicrobial resistance, genetic editing and computational biology applied to biosecurity. Four host sites are offered with their own monthly stipends: Trieste in Italy (€1,500), New Delhi in India (US$1,122), Cape Town in South Africa (ZAR 16,500) and Taizhou in China under the SMART Fellowship (US$1,500). Placements run two months and can extend to six, with travel, health insurance and visa costs reimbursed. Applicants must be nationals of an ICGEB Member State or a country on the DAC list of ODA recipients; women scientists are explicitly encouraged.
