ICANN Fellowship Program

About This Program

A funded route into internet governance run by ICANN, the body that coordinates the domain name system and IP address allocation. Fellows are exposed to the workings of the ICANN community, are assigned a mentor, and receive training before, during and after an ICANN Public Meeting, with travel assistance to attend. Priority goes to individuals from groups that are underserved and underrepresented at ICANN. Application rounds are tied to each Public Meeting, so there are several cycles a year rather than one annual deadline, and an ICANN account is required to apply. It is one of the few structured entry points into technical internet policy for people outside the sector.
