About This Program

A remote fellowship from BASE, an AI safety research lab building pathways for Black researchers and professionals into AI safety, governance, security and responsible AI. The programme runs roughly 12 to 13 weeks across three tracks — AI alignment, AI security and AI governance — beginning with a taught curriculum phase in core AI safety and ethics concepts, followed by guided mentorship and a capstone research project. Applicants may be based anywhere in the world and should identify as Black or as part of the global Black diaspora. Cohorts run twice a year.
