Audubon runs six named fellowship and apprenticeship tracks rather than a single competition: the Dangermond Fellowship (conservation science, public policy and digital mapping, with mentorship from Esri and Audubon), the Fund II Apprenticeship (a year-long full-time apprenticeship spanning communications, marketing, policy, grassroots capacity and community engagement), the Herz International Seabird Fellowship (travel and living expenses for resource managers attending the Maine Coastal Island Sanctuaries seabird management internship), the Mackenzie Fellowship (conservation education), the Schneider Fellowship (state and national climate and clean energy policy) and the Walker Communications Fellowship. Each has been running since between 2014 and 2018. Openings are posted on Audubon's careers page rather than on a published annual deadline, so the fellowships page is a watch-list, not an application form.
