ASTMH Benjamin H. Kean Travel Fellowship in Tropical Medicine

Official Website astmh.org

About This Program

An annual travel fellowship from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene supporting medical students who undertake clinical or research electives in tropical settings. Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited US or Canadian medical school and propose an elective in clinical tropical medicine with at least one month spent at a site endemic for tropical communicable diseases. Selection weighs academic and research credentials, recommendations, the quality of the proposal and the likelihood that the fellowship will lead to a career in tropical medicine. Preference goes to ASTMH student members. The award is named for Benjamin H. Kean, the Cornell professor who founded its tropical medicine programme.
