The AEF Program places accomplished K-12 STEM educators for eleven months in a federal agency or U.S. Congressional office in Washington, D.C., to inform national STEM education efforts. Sponsoring agencies include the Department of Energy, NASA, NSF, the Library of Congress, USGS, DoD, and DHS. It is managed by the DOE Office of Science's Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists with ORISE.
