About This Program

A twelve-month paid fellowship matching graduate students and recent graduates with host offices in Alaska-based state and federal agencies working on marine resource science and policy. Fellowships begin in August or September; the 2025 round paid a $60,000 stipend for the year plus $5,000 in travel and training funds, with fellows arranging their own health insurance. Applicants must be in good academic standing and based in Alaska during the fellowship, and Alaska residents and students at Alaska institutions receive preference.
