West Virginia's last-dollar grant covering tuition, mandatory fees and academic programme fees for certificate and associate degree programmes at the state's public two- and four-year institutions, administered by the West Virginia Council for Community and Technical College Education and running since the 2019-2020 academic year. Priority goes to programmes in high-demand fields such as information technology and healthcare, as designated by the West Virginia Department of Commerce, and the grant reaches more than 150 eligible programmes across ten community and technical colleges at 27 locations. Because it is last-dollar, it pays only the tuition and fee amount left after other state and federal grants; textbooks and course materials remain the student's responsibility unless covered elsewhere.
