Wildlife Conservation Society support, running since 1996, for master's or doctoral study at international institutions by conservationists from Asia/Pacific, Africa, Latin America and North American Indigenous groups; nominees must be citizens of the country from which they are nominated. Six named categories sit under the programme: the Christensen Conservation Leaders Scholarship, C.V. Starr Tiger Conservation Fellowship, Robertson Big Cat Conservation Fellowship, Beinecke African Conservation Scholarship, Clive Marsh Conservation Scholarships and Tellus Leadership Scholarships. Awards can cover tuition, room, board and/or a stipend plus graduate application fees, GRE and TOEFL costs, visa processing, English-language training and health insurance. The critical constraint: "Only nominated applicants will be considered. No unsolicited applications are reviewed" — candidates are put forward by WCS country programme directors, so the first move is contacting the WCS country programme, not preparing an application.
