Virginia's tuition assistance programme for community college study in six high-demand sectors: information technology, healthcare, skilled trades, manufacturing and construction, public safety, early childhood education, and hospitality and culinary arts. It is open to Virginia residents who qualify for in-state financial aid and whose household income is roughly $120,000 or less, and it covers tuition and fees plus a book allowance for up to three academic years from the first semester of the grant. The programmes are deliberately stackable: each begins with a short skills credential that carries immediate labour-market value and that counts toward an associate degree, so a working student can keep adding certificates along the same pathway.
