A US Department of Veterans Affairs scholarship built specifically for veterans and Fry Scholars who run out of GI Bill entitlement partway through a STEM degree. Applicants must have six months or less of Post-9/11 GI Bill or Fry Scholarship benefits remaining and either be enrolled in an undergraduate STEM degree programme, hold a STEM degree and be enrolled in a covered clinical training programme for health care professionals, or hold a STEM degree and be working toward a teaching certification. Approved fields include agriculture and natural resources science, biological and biomedical science, computer science, engineering, health care fields, mathematics and statistics, and the physical sciences. The award adds up to nine months of benefits or $30,000, whichever comes first, paid at the applicant's existing Post-9/11 or Fry rate. Applications take about 15 minutes and VA usually decides within 30 days.
