A competitive USDA NIFA grant programme that funds undergraduate scholarships in the food, agriculture, natural resources and human sciences, and in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programmes. Awards to institutions range from $20,000 to $250,000 and support scholarships plus mentoring, scientific training and professional development for the students who receive them. Land-grant universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions and other colleges with significant minority enrolment are eligible to apply. Individual students cannot apply directly — scholarships are administered by the awarded institution, so students apply through their own college.
