About This Program

A $15,000-per-year scholarship for up to four years at the University of Queensland, funded from the legacy of Sir William Tyree, founder of the Tyree Group and a leading Australian industrialist who died in 2013. Applicants must be domestic students from rural or remote Australia (ABS remoteness areas 2 to 5), able to demonstrate financial hardship, and enrolled full-time in an approved engineering honours programme with an electrical engineering focus. Holders of a similar scholarship are ineligible. Versions of the Tyree scholarship run at several other Australian universities including Sydney, Adelaide, Wollongong, Newcastle, South Australia and Tasmania, each with its own criteria and application route, so check the specific institution rather than assuming the terms transfer.
