UKESF Scholarship Scheme

About This Program

An industry-sponsored scholarship for electronics undergraduates at 30 partner UK universities, run by the UK Electronics Skills Foundation. Each scholar receives a bursary of £1,000 a year, a paid work placement of at least eight weeks annually - some sponsors offer six to twelve month placements instead - a funded residential professional development course, and a mentor at the sponsoring employer. Final-year female scholars receive subsidised conference attendance. The employment outcome is the headline figure: roughly 93 percent of scholars who completed their studies went into jobs in the electronics and technology sectors. Scholars cannot hold another UKESF bursary such as the Semiconductor Talent Award at the same time. The scheme won the Princess Royal Training Award in 2025 for the second time. Applications close between cycles and reopen in September.
