A highly selective five-and-a-half-week summer research programme run by the Belin-Blank Center in which high school students in grades 10 and 11 work in University of Iowa laboratories on original research under faculty mentorship. The 2027 cohort runs 16 June to 23 July 2027. The programme fee is 7,500 dollars, covering room, board, materials and three semester hours of undergraduate credit, and financial aid can cover up to 95 percent of the cost. Applicants submit essays, transcripts, standardised test scores and two letters of reference, and selection weighs essay quality, academic record, recommendations and fit with faculty research interests. Applications for 2027 open 15 December 2026, close 16 February 2027 and are decided by 1 April 2027.
