University of California, Los Angeles
An eight-week full-time computational biology and bioinformatics research immersion run by UCLA's Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences, running late June to mid-August. Students join a UCLA faculty lab and work on a genomics or computational biology project. Note the eligibility change that took effect in 2026: the programme now supports only UCLA undergraduates sponsored by a UCLA faculty member and no longer accepts applicants from other institutions, and it does not provide a stipend. Applicants are expected to be planning graduate school applications and preferably to have taken bioinformatics coursework. Worth knowing about precisely because older listings still describe it as nationally open, which it is not.
