An intensive four-week residential pre-college programme for high school students who have shown aptitude for academic and professional careers in STEM, hosted across six University of California campuses: Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, San Diego and Santa Cruz. Coursework is hands-on and lab-intensive, taught by UC faculty and researchers. Open to California residents completing grades 8 through 12, with admitted students typically holding a GPA of 3.5 or above. Admission is competitive: each campus can accommodate only about 160 to 200 participants. Applications open in early January and close in early February for the following summer, and programme fees apply.
