A USD 5,000 TREE Fund award for women studying arboriculture and urban forestry at college level. Arboriculture remains one of the most male-dominated applied plant sciences, and this is the only dedicated women's award in the field that TREE Fund runs. Named for Fran Ward, a figure in the tree care industry's professional community. Applications open 15 January and close 15 March each year through TREE Fund's grant and scholarship portal. Applicants eligible for this award are usually eligible for two or three of TREE Fund's other five scholarships as well, and the shared cycle makes applying to several at once straightforward.
