A week-long summer youth engineering pathway on rail and intermodal transportation, held fully in person on the Michigan Tech campus in Houghton and open to high-school students completing grades 9 to 11. Participants study how modern railroad track is built, examine rail equipment from around the world, analyse signalling and control systems, and take field trips to working rail facilities. Full scholarships are available so the programme runs at no cost to students; the Federal Railroad Administration funds course development and student programme fees including meals and housing. The 2026 session ran June 21-26 and registration is handled through the university's CampDoc portal.
