Texas A&M University at Galveston
The maritime academy of Texas A&M University, based at its Galveston campus, training cadets for US Coast Guard merchant mariner licences alongside a bachelor's degree. Since the fall 2025 semester Texas A&M has offered in-state tuition to all incoming US undergraduates who select a Coast Guard license degree programme at Galveston, covering Marine Biology, Marine Sciences, Marine Transportation and Marine Engineering Technology. Cadets complete Summer Sea Terms aboard a training ship as part of the licensing route, and prospective cadets can tour both the campus and the ship.
