The Society of Vacuum Coaters Foundation funds students heading into vacuum coating and thin-film technology — a field that underpins semiconductors, optics, displays and protective coatings. Academic Scholarships of up to $5,000 go to full-time students majoring in engineering, physics, materials science or a related discipline, and are open to those at accredited technical, vocational, two-year, undergraduate and graduate institutions alike. The Foundation also runs Industry Scholarships for people already working in the sector, Student Travel Sponsorship covering full travel and registration for students presenting technical work at SVC TechCon, and WISE Scholarships for women in roll-to-roll converting.
