About This Program

A two-way student exchange that sends Indian students to U.S. host institutions and U.S. students to premier institutions in India for a summer research placement. It is run by the Science and Engineering Research Board and Department of Science and Technology (Government of India) together with the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum and WINStep Forward, and covers physical sciences, engineering and related fields rather than the biotechnology focus of its sister Khorana programme. Named for the physicist Satyendra Nath Bose, whose work on quantum statistics gave bosons their name. Separate application tracks exist for Indian students and for U.S. students.
