Awards from the Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology for students presenting at the SIMB Annual Meeting. The Best Student Oral Presentation Award carries $500 and is selected from submitted abstracts; five Best Student Poster Presentation Awards of $500 each are given across SIMB's core areas of biocatalysis, environmental microbiology, fermentation and cell culture, metabolic engineering and natural products. SIMB also runs Diversity Travel Awards for graduate student presenters from underrepresented groups, and student poster awards at the Symposium on Biomaterials for Fuels and Chemicals that carry complimentary conference registration. Award cycles rotate by conference year.
