The International Training Institute is the national training arm for the unionised sheet metal, air conditioning and welding industry, working through a network of affiliated local training centres. It develops the apprenticeship curriculum and supporting course catalogue for the sheet metal trade and points applicants to the training centre nearest them; the trade spans architectural sheet metal, HVAC duct fabrication and installation, testing and balancing, service work and industrial welding. The institute also runs a welder certification verification service.
