Wellcome Sanger Institute
Outreach competition for undergraduates living and studying in low- or middle-income countries, set up in 2002 with money donated by Nobel laureate John Sulston. The winner spends three months at the Institute in a lab of their choice, with travel, living and training expenses covered. The 2026 round is closed and 2027 details are expected in autumn 2026.
