Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)
The Japan Science and Technology Agency invites young people from overseas to Japan for short science and technology exchange visits. Three open-application courses run: Course A, a science and technology experience course; Course B, a collaborative research activities course; and Course C, a science and technology training course. A separate Course D annual mutual exchange course targets India and African countries. Eligible invitees are high school and technical college students, or university students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty and people working in science and technology at public institutions who are under 40. Basically all countries and regions are eligible for invitation. Individuals cannot apply directly - an overseas organization and a Japanese host organization plan the program jointly and the Japanese organization submits the application to JST. FY2026 runs three screening rounds, with the third accepting from 23 June to 16 September and inviting participants from late December to around late February.
