The Indo-French bilateral doctoral mobility fellowship, established in 2013 and jointly funded by India's Department of Science and Technology and the French Institute in India, implemented by CEFIPRA. It lets Indian PhD scholars carry out two to five months of their doctoral work in a French laboratory, and French PhD and master's students do the same in India, across eight discipline areas. Indian fellows in France receive 1,710 euros a month plus social security; French fellows in India receive Rs 40,000 a month plus accommodation capped at Rs 45,000. Both receive return economy airfare, insurance and conference support. Applicants must be in their second or third PhD year, be under 30, and hold no permanent institutional position; previous CEFIPRA recipients are ineligible.
