A seven-week summer research placement that has run since 1996 and places undergraduates from Mexico and partner countries into active research projects supervised by established researchers at higher education institutions and research centres. The programme spans nine knowledge areas including physical sciences, biology, medicine, biotechnology, engineering, humanities and social sciences. Applicants must be at least in the fourth semester of their degree and hold a minimum general average of 8.5. Placements end with an international congress at which participants present their findings. The 2026 edition is the 31st Verano de la Investigacion Cientifica y Tecnologica del Pacifico.
