An eight-week paid summer internship at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's Richland campus, run under the Predictive Phenomics Science and Technology initiative, with two start dates in early and mid June. The first two weeks are a morning bootcamp, after which interns work on computational biology projects with lab staff. Open to high school and undergraduate students; no previous experience is required, though demonstrated interest in STEM is preferred. This is one of the few national-laboratory internships that explicitly accepts high school students into a computational research group rather than routing them to a separate outreach track, and it sits apart from PNNL's general project internships and its Energy and Environment Internship Program.
