An eight-week residential summer program at the University of Pittsburgh designed to build interest in public health among college students, combining classroom instruction, an internship placement in a Pittsburgh public health setting, group activities and mentorship. Part of the CDC John R. Lewis Undergraduate Public Health Scholars Program. Scholars receive a $3,400 stipend, on-campus housing, round-trip transportation to Pittsburgh and meal support, and attend the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting with travel costs covered. Open to college students other than current Pitt BSPH students, whose curriculum overlaps the program.
