The scholarship portfolio of Phi Theta Kappa, the honour society for two-year college students, spanning three types: competitive awards recognising academic excellence and leadership among members, need-based cash awards intended to keep students enrolled through financial hardship, and transfer awards from hundreds of four-year university partners, most of which are guaranteed to eligible transferring members. Members also receive one-to-one scholarship advising covering essays and applications. For STEM students at community colleges this is the main structural route into funded transfer to a four-year engineering, computing or science degree, and it sits alongside rather than replaces institutional aid.
