A National Science Foundation programme that funds alliances of colleges and universities working collectively to increase the number of STEM degrees earned by students from groups historically underrepresented in STEM. Alliance activities include undergraduate research experiences, mentoring, summer bridge programmes, support for transfer from two-year to four-year institutions, and pathways into STEM graduate study. Project types span alliance development grants, Bridge-to-the-Baccalaureate, STEM Pathways implementation and research alliances, and Bridge to STEM Graduate Degrees. Students take part through the LSAMP alliance at their own institution rather than applying to NSF directly.
