A paid summer placement at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission giving students exposure to careers, professionals and working environments across the agency that regulates civilian nuclear reactors, materials and waste. Appointments provide temporary employment for up to 89 days between May and August, with work spanning reactor safety, nuclear materials, security, radiation protection and supporting technical and policy functions. The summer programme sits alongside the NRC's other student routes, including a Co-Operative Education Program, the Nuclear Regulator Apprenticeship Network, the Office of General Counsel Internship Program, the Honor Law Graduate Program and the Judicial Law Clerk Program. The NRC also funds nuclear-related scholarships, fellowships and research through its grants programmes, including the Minority Serving Institutions Grants Program.
