Northeastern University
A 44-semester-hour computer science master’s from Northeastern’s Khoury College built specifically for career changers with no computer science background - the first two semesters are foundational bridge coursework taught by faculty experienced in teaching advanced CS to beginners, after which students can specialise in areas including artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, game design and security. Classes are fully asynchronous for working professionals, with three short in-person residencies at the start, middle and end of the bridge phase; travel and housing for those residencies are included in tuition. Northeastern reports the Align programmes have served more than 2,600 professionals over 12 years.
