A NOAA fellowship providing a year-long experiential opportunity in residence at a NOAA facility for graduate students already supported at an EPP/MSI Cooperative Science Center and pursuing a degree in a discipline aligned with NOAA's mission. Fellows conduct collaborative research that advances both the NOAA mission and their own thesis or dissertation, working under the joint guidance of a NOAA mentor and their academic institution advisor. Fellows are required to incorporate human dimensions such as social science, behavioural science, communications or economics into their research.
