National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
NIOSH funds 18 university-based Education and Research Centers that provide graduate training, continuing education and outreach in occupational safety and health. Core disciplines are industrial hygiene, occupational health nursing, occupational medicine and occupational safety, with allied programs in ergonomics, occupational health psychology, mining safety and agricultural safety. Over 20,000 individuals have graduated from ERCs since 1977; students apply to the individual center programs listed on the page.
