About This Program

A one- to two-year full-time research position in the NIH Intramural Research Program for recent college graduates considering graduate or professional school in healthcare and STEM. Postbacs train in a research group directed by a Principal Investigator on one of several NIH campuses, including the main Bethesda, Maryland campus, across biomedical, behavioural and social sciences and basic, translational and clinical research. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who received a bachelor's degree within three years of starting, or a master's degree within six months of starting, and must pass a federal background check. Students from biology, engineering, epidemiology, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, nursing, physics, computer science and bioinformatics are all invited to apply.
