About This Program

Gives recent college graduates one to two years working directly with a NIDA scientist on a biomedical research project in the National Institute on Drug Abuse Intramural Research Program. There is no application deadline, but most postbacs begin in the summer or early fall, and applicants are advised to complete their application six to eight months before their intended start date and then contact NIDA IRP Principal Investigators directly to express interest in specific labs. Three reference letters are required. Current postbacs may also join the NIH Academy, a program focused on health disparities research.
