A six to eight week summer research internship in National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute laboratories at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland and in Framingham, Massachusetts. Interns work under the mentorship of NHLBI principal investigators on basic and clinical research and take part in professional development activities, finishing with a poster presentation. Open to US citizens and permanent residents who are 18 or older by the programme start and enrolled at least half-time as a high school senior, undergraduate, graduate or professional student, or accepted to an accredited college or university for the autumn semester. Admissions run on a rolling basis from mid-November, with the application deadline in mid-February and reference letters due a week later.
