Office of Navajo Nation Scholarship & Financial Assistance
Established by the Navajo Nation in 1980, the Chief Manuelito Scholarship provides $7,000 per academic year toward direct educational expenses at a post-secondary institution for high-achieving Navajo students; no major restrictions are listed. High school graduates qualify through minimum ACT/SAT and GPA thresholds plus Navajo Language and Navajo Government coursework, and current undergraduates through the 24-credit, 3.0 GPA rule. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA and 12 or more credit hours per term and reapply each academic year.
