A NASA challenge, run with Future Engineers, in which teams of students in grades 6 to 12 propose, build and fly science and technology experiments aboard suborbital flight platforms. Sixty winning teams each receive 1,500 dollars in build funding, technical support and a guaranteed flight slot for their experiment. Open to teams affiliated with US public, private and charter schools and guided by an educator. The 2026-27 challenge uses high-altitude balloons as the flight platform and is expected to open for entries in September 2026.
