About This Program

A six-month online STEM programme at MIT running June through December, formerly known as MOSTEC, for students in the summer before their senior year of high school. Over the summer participants take two rigorous online STEM courses meeting Monday to Thursday evenings, one project-based and one core course in calculus, physics, computer science or science writing, and build final projects for a symposium, at a commitment of 25 to 30 hours per week. The autumn term drops to 3 to 5 hours per week of webinars and cluster meetings on college preparation, including mock interviews, essay reviews and career exploration, alongside undergraduate mentors and admissions counsellors. Open to US citizens and permanent residents who are high school juniors and remain in the United States during the programme. It is free of charge, with all programme costs covered by MIT and its donors.
