A set of railroad-specific scholarships from Michigan Tech's Rail Transportation Program, one of only a handful of named rail engineering programmes in North America. The RTP First Year Scholarship provides a minimum of four $500 awards to any incoming student interested in the railroad industry; unlimited $100 Summer Youth Scholarships go to graduates of a rail summer youth programme who enrol at Michigan Tech; the RTP Pipeline Scholarship renews funding for continuing recipients; and the CN, Alumni and Friends Scholarship makes merit awards aligned with AREMA scholarship criteria, with a December 10 deadline. Most awards require students to be involved with the Rail Transportation Program or the Railroad Engineering and Activities Club.
