A Maryland Higher Education Commission grant for students preparing to work in state-designated workforce shortage occupations, including nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, human services, child care, teaching, social work and public service. Applicants must be Maryland residents (and for dependent students, the parent must also be a Maryland resident) and must enrol at a two-year or four-year Maryland college or university each semester, either full-time at 12 or more credits or part-time at six to eleven credits, as an undergraduate. Awards use both merit and need-based criteria. Applications are submitted online through the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS) using the MHEC One App.
