A Maryland Higher Education Commission scholarship-for-service covering education expenses, including tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board, for students in a state-approved cybersecurity degree or certificate programme at a Maryland public or non-profit private institution. Applicants must be within three years of graduating from the approved programme, must have completed at least 25 percent of the credits required for it, must hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and may enrol full-time or part-time. Recipients incur a service obligation of one year of Maryland public-sector employment for each year of scholarship received, working for a local education agency, public high school, community college, or state, county, city or municipal government. Applications are submitted through the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS) and are reviewed on a rolling basis.
