The largest provider of need-based scholarships to the children of US Marines, open to the children and stepchildren of active-duty, Reserve and honourably discharged veteran Marines, and of Navy Corpsmen and Chaplains attached to Marine units. Applicants need a minimum 2.00 GPA, a family adjusted gross income at or below the published cap, and a place at an accredited institution eligible for federal funding — including career and technical education programmes, not only four-year degrees. Two dedicated tracks carry fixed amounts: Children of the Fallen awards $30,000 over four years ($7,500 a year) and Children of the Wounded awards up to $40,000 over four years. The Foundation has awarded more than $260 million in scholarships to date.
